Except the problem arises where when someone goes to the hospital and gets treatment, and doesn’t have insurance, the money has to come from somewhere right away. So who does it come from? The person getting that treatment will pay over time, but the immediately shoulder-bearing is on those paying for insurance already.

That’s not very goddamn fair at all. Paying $20 a month is going to be cheaper than risking a fine in case something happens to you.

“The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 45% now favor the health care plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats. Most (52%) remain opposed.

Only 25% Strongly Support the plan while 42% are Strongly Opposed.”

Try staying on topic. The discussion wasn’t about “bloated oversized government” until you hijacked and tried to redirect the conversation. Health Care provision is a private industry. Hospitals receive much in the way of Public financial support ALREADY! That doesn’t make them agencies of government.

…and what did you think I was rebutting? My response was directed at floridagrandpa who was asking why other countries were able to ‘afford’ health care. Most don’t spend as much as our government does.

  11. AnduinX said:

Bares no resemblance? Can you really not draw a line between bloated-over sized government and excess military?

“The 2009 U.S. military budget is almost as much as the rest of the world’s defense spending combined and is over nine times larger than the military budget of China”

I’m not saying military is the only part of government that needs to be cut, I’m with Ron Paul – whenever our government taxes it puts the pinch on the people.

Here is what I would like to ask the President. “Mr. Obama, why can we not just open access to Medicare to everyone, while at the same time mandating that every American buy into either private insurance or Medicare.”

How much simpler would this be?

Notice how this slave attempts to frame the debate like I ever said “hospitals don’t save lives”, and that I am “for corporations”?

This is the kind of intellectual dishonesty that pervades the parasitic intellect. Even Dennis Kucinich (the last of the honest collectivists) is calling this bill a “bail out for health insurance”.

BTW schools and cops are funded at the state level where we still maintain some measure of self determination. Just as health care should be.

    Wake up slave.

Health Reform is sucks, not effective, plunder of average people by goverment, deprivation of liberty

  16. GarethandSarah said:

So hospitals don’t save lives then? And your a right-wing nut who is a bitch of the corporations and your minister.

By stealing you mean by taxing me so that a sustainable government can exist? There’s a reason that things like the police and schools are required. I have no problem with paying a tax, it’s how we sustain that little thing called the law. This bill is here to save lives, excuse me if I find that to be a good thing.

Where does it say in the constitution that its a bad thing?

Affordable Healthcare for America Act has to be passed!! I beleive that republicans need to be tried for treason for not supporting this legislation that will help millions. Why would anyone be against helping people?? I know of Canadians who love their government run healcare plans.

That is true, the nation is broke and has depended on the financial support provided by other nations buying our debt for decades.
What you said in the previous post bears no resemblance to your present statement and I made objection. Stating a truth does not in and of itself validate a false statement. It was and remains a cheap shot and was and remains a dishonest rebuttal.

The bill that passed last night will not become law idiot. It’s unconstitutional and unaffordable.

  21. TheKralk said:

It’s nice to see that we are evolving. Our founders of this nation would be proud. You can’t have life, liberty and the pursuit of hapiness if your life is equall to the amount you pay into health premiums, if your liberties are circumvented by a Patriot Act and your pursuit of hapiness is dicated by theives on Wall Street.

I would have to agree with most of that summation.

The government has no right to tell the people what they HAVE to buy or not buy.

Our government is the laughing stock of the rest of the world and a lot of places and people in those places are wondering why we tolerate their crap anymore.

  23. AnduinX said:

It does bare relevance to the conversation. I’m saying there is no way we can afford the cost – our government is already too bloated and over-sized.

  24. AnduinX said:

Why wouldn’t they have it is not the question to ask. This is a serious breach of our rights.

The government has no right to demand we purchase insurance.

Being alive without insurance should not be a breach of anything.

Too many elected politicians are achieving public office through outright lies to the public during the election process. As a result, a Democracy or in our case a Republic will not function as intended being that the electorate has no choice but make decisions based upon false information and claims. Therefore, our lawmakers are illegitimate, if not criminal, thus their laws have no authority.
